Incorporating an ultra-bright glare display developed using BenQ's exclusive UltraVivid* technology, the Joybook S61 takes advantage of DBEF™ (Display Brilliance Enhancement Film) to raise brightness to 200 nit. In addition, a low-reflectivity coating aggregates emitted light to further enhance brightness, while ensuring saturated color and crisp, accurate details in the screen image.

Full-sized Ergonomic Keys
The BenQ S61 is designed without sacrificing its usability as a productivity tool. BenQ is committed to creating a keyboard that uniquely suits each Joybook model, and the S61 is no exception. Despite its diminutive overall size, it is equipped with a full-sized keyboard, with key pitch that has actually been enlarged to 19.05mm in width (bigger than those on a standard desktop keyboard). And to ensure the most comfortable typing, BenQ has specially adjusted the "touch" of the keys. Moreover, the forward edge of each key has been contoured so that your fingers can move more smoothly around the keyboard, resulting in less fatigue. The entire design, in fact, exemplifies BenQ's careful consideration of ergonomic principles.
Elevated Screen Hinge

Intel® Centrino® processor technology
The Joybook S61 is based on the Intel® Centrino® processor technology, which combines an Intel® Core™ Duo processor, Mobile Intel® 945GM chipset, and 667MHz FSB that enable you to run multiple applications and perform multiple tasks—whether manipulating images, downloading files, or anything else—without affecting the overall performance, so you can be your most productive. And with a speedy SATA hard disk drive, data reads and writes won't slow down the system either.
Rigorous testing standards
Adhering to BenQ's dedication to quality, the Joybook S61 is subjected to a pressure test that ensures that it can withstand 50 kilograms, exceeding the industry standard of 30 kilograms. BenQ's drop test uses 100 centimeters as the drop height, a far more demanding test than the usual 76 centimeters. In addition, the Joybook S61's LCD is also subjected to a battery of 25 tests—including a scratch resistance test, pressure test, hinge test, compatibility test, high and low-temperature tests, drop test, vibration test, audio muting test, and EM emissions test—to ensure its quality. Even the keyboard is thoroughly tested, passing a series of more than 20 tests designed to check that it can withstand 8 million keystrokes.
Superior ventilation system
Retaining the sophisticated front-mounted ventilation intake cooling system of the Joybook 7000 series, which brings in air from the front of the unit and then vents it out the sides, the Joybook S61 provides effective cooling of major heat-producing chips inside. The result is reduced overall system temperatures despite the highly compact form factor, thus ensuring stability.
