The netbook market is dominated by laptops whose frames are thick slabs of unattractive plastics, and design is often sacrificed in the name of hitting cellar prices. In looks, the new ASUS EeePC 1008HA (Seashell) is basically everything that the EeePC 1000HE isn't. Though the frame is still made up of plastic, it's noticeably thinner and lighter than the 1000HE while maintaining the 10-inch widescreen and 92% keyboard. Replacing a removable battery with a non-removable one was the only sacrifice. Even then, the nearly 6 hours it scored in battery testing is more than acceptable.

The MSI X340 (021US), which debuted at CES 2009 as the X320, is nearly an identical twin to the Apple MacBook Air (Nvidia 9400M GT). Other than color—our review unit was black, and there's also a silver version—it's hard to tell them apart at first glance. The X340 is a cheap Air knock-off, to put it lightly, but there's more to this exceptionally thin ultraportable than its cellar-low price. Matching the Air's weight and dimensions is an impressive feat in its own right, yet MSI adds a full array of physical ports and a removable battery, which won't find in the Air. But the X340 will need to revisit Apple's blueprints if it wants to match the Air's build quality.

MSI, a Taiwan-based company, has just unleashed MSI X-Slim 320 in Taiwan. The MSI X-Slim 320 is the latest notebook from MSI, MSI X-Slim have 13.4″ wide screen LCD Display with resolution 1366×768 pixel and equipped with Intel Atom Z530 at 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and WCDMA.

The MSI X-Slim 320 is a Ultra-Thin notebook with weight just 1.3kg and thickness is as small as 1.98cm. For battery, the MSI X-Slim 320 used 4 cell or 8 cell battery with battery life up tu 10 hours. Lightness, thinness and powerfull, the MSI X-Slim 320 will be available for $800.

The Toshiba Mini NB200 weighing in at 1.1Kgs with 10.1” widescreen TruBrite LED backlight display. It’s configured with N270 or N280 1.6GHz Intel Atom Processor, 160GB integrated HDD, and equipped with 3D-accelerometer monitoring system to detect any shocks and vibrations for its HDD protection. Expected to be available in May 2009, the NB200 is priced at a mere £319 or $464.
