Lenovo IdeaPad S10,this 10.2" (1024x600) netbook is nice but lacks a few important features. It comes with the standard Atom N270 and 1GB RAM and a 160GB HDD. We've heard good things about the keyboard too, which is always a plus. It has Bluetooth, but there is no option for WWAN, and come to mention it, no SSD option either.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U330 ($1,199 direct) delivers a flurry of features—an optical drive, an HDMI port, and switchable graphics—to suit road warriors and stay-at-home users alike. Where it stumbles is in its design, more like that of a small-business model than a consumer-oriented IdeaPad. It's in dire need of a makeover, especially given that $100 is all that separates it from the base configuration of the handsome aluminum MacBook.

The Samsung X460-44P ($1,700 street) is a worthy ambassador of the brand. You might have remembered that a few days ago Fujitsu-Siemens came out with one of the best laptop warranties of all time.The specs under the hood reads as follows: 13 inch screen, Turion X2 or Athlon X2 processors, ATI, Radeon HD 3200 graphics card, 4GB RAM and a 250GB or 320GB hard drive. All that comes with the previously mentioned GraphicBoost addon which attaches itself to the computer via a PCIexpress port.


The GpraphicBoost addon is based on the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 and according to Fujitsu it can give you a 470% increase over the laptops performance. Unfortunately said GprahicBoost is only available for the Sa 3650 and a price has not yet been determined, although Fujitsu says that it will be available at "specialist retailers" this month.

Since the shift to Intel's chipset, consumers have been waiting for an aluminum replacement for the 12-inch PowerBook G4. The model has finally arrived, though sporting a larger 13.3-inch display. Based on the same unibody design as the MacBook Air, the latest MacBook comes in two configurations--the midrange 2.0GHz model and the high-end 2.4GHz machine. Besides the processor speed, the difference is that only the latter unit comes with a backlit keyboard.
