While adhering to the established ergonomic principles, BenQ designs the keyboard for each Joybook model individually. The Joybook T31 cleverly fits a full-size keyboard into its compact housing, and even increases the spacing between keys to 19.05 mm—greater than that on regular desktop keyboards. Then, to accommodate actual user habits, BenQ adjusted the resistance of the keys for greater comfort when entering text. In addition, the distinctive rounded bottom edge of the keys relieves fatigue during long periods of typing by allowing your fingers to move around the keyboard more smoothly.

And with a speedy SATA hard disk drive, data reads and writes won't slow down the system either.
Rigorous testing standards
Adhering to BenQ's dedication to quality, the Joybook S61 is subjected to a pressure test that ensures that it can withstand 50 kilograms, exceeding the industry standard of 30 kilograms. BenQ's drop test uses 100 centimeters as the drop height, a far more demanding test than the usual 76 centimeters. In addition, the Joybook S61's LCD is also subjected to a battery of 25 tests—including a scratch resistance test, pressure test, hinge test, compatibility test, high and low-temperature tests, drop test, vibration test, audio muting test, and EM emissions test—to ensure its quality. Even the keyboard is thoroughly tested, passing a series of more than 20 tests designed to check that it can withstand 8 million keystrokes.

Retaining the sophisticated front-mounted ventilation intake cooling system of the Joybook 7000 series, which brings in air from the front of the unit and then vents it out the sides, the Joybook S61 provides effective cooling of major heat-producing chips inside. Ergonomic Curved Keyboard DesignAfter studying the usage patterns of people who type on a keyboard for long periods of time, BenQ has created a special curved lower edge design for each key (replacing the usual sharp edge). Accommodating the fact that when people type, their fingertips generally move upwards when in contact with the keyboard, this design provides a smoother interface for rapid movement. The pad area of each key is also 13% larger than those on regular keyboards, reducing accidental strikes of wrong keys. In addition, special consideration has been given to the cushioning of the underside of the keycaps. By fine-tuning the force feedback provided when a key is pressed, it reduces fatigue from excessive resistance each time it is struck, increasing overall comfort.
"Wide" Proportions TouchpadWith a touchpad shaped to 16:10 width-to-height proportions, the Joybook S53W is designed to accommodate navigation around a wide-screen display. The zero-gap touchpad, moreover, increases the ease and smoothness with which the fingers can move.

The Joybook S53W series utilizes the latest Intel® Centrino® processor technology, including the 915GM chipset and 533MHz FSB, for overall performance that more than doubles the previous generation. With the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 a/b/g wireless networking solution, the Joybook S53W lets you easily access the Internet from any location. Additionally, the Intel® Proset automatic detection feature allows you to automatically connect to the Internet without re-entering a password at a WiFi hotspot that you have previously visited.
Dual Antenna Design
The Joybook S52's thoughtful design places the antenna at the front edge of the lid, so that it is elevated to the maximum height when open for better reception of wireless network signals. In addition, both the right and left corners have embedded antennas for the best possible wireless networking reception and online experience.

Pioneering Thermal Design
To ensure that the compact Joybook S52 offers effective cooling, it retains the "front-intake ventilation cooling system" from the previous generation. Stringent Testing Standards
Insisting on the highest testing rigor, we have increased the weight to which the Joybook S53W is subjected in the weight pressure test to 50 kgs, drop test to 100 cm, a more demanding standard than the 36 kgs and 70 cm that is the industry norm. In all, the Joybook S52 is subjected to more than 24 quality assurance tests, including LCD scratch test, weight pressure test, lid hinge test, compatibility test, temperature tests, vibration test, noise test, etc. Even the keyboard must pass more than 20 tests, ensuring that the keys can withstand 8,000,000 or more presses.
